Dean of College and Graduate School Announces His Resignation

Dr. Jim Stamoolis

Dr. James Stamoolis has resigned his position as Dean of Trinity College and Trinity Graduate School effective July 6, 2007. Dr. Stamoolis was committed to the mission of the university and brought a strong theological and scholarly foundation to the role of dean. Dr. Stamoolis has served in this position for two years and has decided to leave Trinity to pursue other opportunities that utilize his gifts and abilities.

Following Dr. Stamoolis's departure, Dr. Steve Pointer will be named interim dean of Trinity College, and Dr. Joyce Shelton will be named interim dean of Trinity Graduate School and have oversight of the REACH adult undergraduate program. Trinity President Dr. Greg Waybright commented, "Both have served with distinction in their roles as associate deans. I have every confidence that Trinity College and Trinity Graduate School will move forward under their dedicated leadership."

A farewell reception will be held on Thursday, June 21, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. in the faculty lounge of the McLennan Academic Building, where friends may take the oportunity to wish Jim and his wife Evy the blessings of God in their future endeavors.
