Creative Dining Services Selected as Trinity's New Food Service Provider

May 2008

Trinity International University has chosen to partner with Creative Dining Services in providing hospitality services on the TIU Deerfield campus.Creative Dining will be responsible for all catering and food service on campus.

In selecting Creative Dining Services, Trinity’s Executive Council approved the recommendation of the Food Service Task Force, which included representation from a broad spectrum across the university–both students and university employees. The Task Force met diligently for many months to review Trinity’s dining service program, solicit much input from students, and investigate a variety of vendors. Following a competitive bidding process, three vendors were selected for final consideration, including multiple visits to colleges and universities served by each vendor.

Trinity’s Senior Vice President for Institutional Advancement Paul Maurer served on the Task Force, "Having visited and experienced Creative Dining's food service and interacted with their leadership at Calvin College and Hope College, among others, we are pleased with the level of quality in every aspect. We are excited about the future of food service on campus." As the proposed student life center is built, Creative Dining will play an integral role in developing a quality food service program in the new facility.

Steve Hiligan, president of Creative Dining Services, stated, "We are very excited about our partnership with Trinity International University. It is our strategy to partner with organizations that value their students and employees and foster a sense of community among those they serve in a faith-friendly environment."

The transition from Sodexho to Creative Dining Services will take place this summer. The Trinity community is deeply thankful for the thirty-seven years of partnership with Sodexho. Many students, faculty, and staff will miss the friendships they’ve developed with the warm and gracious Sodexho staff.

Vice President of Institutional and Auxiliary Services Lyle Erstad invites the Trinity Community to "be in prayer for Trinity, and for Sodexho and Creative Dining, as they begin to work on a smooth transition. Pray also for the Sodexho employees whose lives will be affected by this decision."
