Clean-Up citations

To clean-up your citations:
Open the folder you have stored your citations in. Click on the arrow next to
Choose the folder you want to view.
Your list of citations will appear. Click on the link next to the first citation.
Some common mistakes that will need to be fixed:
Spacing between the author’s last and first name. There should be one space between the comma after the last name and the first name. Multiple authors should be separated by a semi-colon and a space.
Capitalization of the title (most citation styles want titles to have all words, except prepositions and articles capitalized, but most databases use sentence capitalization). This applies to book titles, journals titles, articles titles and essay titles.
Remove the space in front of the colon before a subtitle.
Make sure the Publisher is correctly capitalized.
Check the place of publication, often times states are abbreviated with the postal abbreviation. Most citation styles use the old fashioned abbreviations (Ill. instead of IL for Illinois).
Click the button when changes are completed.
There may be more changes that need to be made, depending on the style you are using. Always double check that your final Bibliography citations match the style you are using.
Insert citations into Microsoft Word documents using
Write-N-Cite is a separate program that you install on your computer which interfaces between RefWorks and Microsoft Word.
It is helpful for adding parenthetical citations to your paper, but not necessary for creating your bibliography.
