Audio-Visual Carrels

AV carrels in the Media room are equipped to allow the viewing of DVDs and VHS videotapes, as well as listen to CDs and audio cassettes. These are for academic use only. Check out headphones at the Circulation Counter.

Cassette Tape Players and Headphones

Cassette players and headphones may be checked out in two-hour blocks at the Circulation Counter for in-library use.

Group Study Rooms

Four small group study rooms are available for students’ use on the south side of the main floor. These rooms are available for group study only; individuals will be asked to vacate the rooms. Rooms may be reserved up to a week in advance by signing up on the schedule located on the door of each study room. Each group may use the room for only two hours at a time and must be signed up on the schedule sheet on the door. All food and drink policies apply in the group study rooms.

Internet Access

  Network Connections for Laptops

There are two main sets of network connections in the carrels at either end of the book stacks on the main level. Please see the library map for the exact locations. The computer labs on campus can explain how to access the network with your laptop.

  Wireless Connection

Most of the library is equipped with wireless connection.  You should be able to connect instantly.  If you are having problems please contact the campus IT department.

Lost and Found

Personal items found abandoned in the library will be kept for one month in a cabinet at the front counter. They will then be turned over to the TEDS Student Services Office. Items of value such as cell phones, keys, and wallets will be kept in a secure place and the owners contacted.

Photocopiers

Photocopiers are available for the convenience of students. The cost is 10¢ per copy. Students may purchase a copy card, which reduces the cost to 7¢ per copy. Only transparencies bought at the Circulation Counter may be used in the copiers. The cost of transparencies is 25¢ each. Ask at the Circulation Counter for further details.

Supplies

Miscellaneous supplies, such as a paper cutter, stapler, and hole punch, are located by the photocopiers. A heavy-duty stapler is available upon request at the Circulation Counter.

Telephones

Both a pay phone and a campus phone are located in the north end of the entrance lobby.

Study Carrels

Doctoral students and MA/ThM students with an approved thesis may reserve carrels on the lower level. See the Circulation Supervisor for reservation form and policies. Patrons may not leave noncirculating Reference or periodical material in carrels overnight. All library books kept in a study carrel must be checked out or the student faces the loss of the study carrel. Noneligible students who continue to use empty carrels without permission will be referred to the Dean of Students.
