Guidelines for Submitting Manuscripts to the Trinity Law Review

Trinity Law Review abides by the National Conference of Law Reviews Code of Ethics (available at http://www.law.stetson.edu/nclr/). Trinity Law Review requests that contributors comply with the following standards:

  1. Submit a single copy of the manuscript by email or mail.

If by mail, please bind the pages with a single staple or binder clip only.  Contributors are also requested to enclose a floppy disk with the text of the manuscript in a recent version of Microsoft Word or Corel WordPerfect.  Manuscripts may be mailed to Trinity Law School, ATTN: Trinity Law Review, 2200 N. Grand Ave, Santa Ana CA 92705.

If by email, send a message to lawrevie@tiu.edu and attach the manuscript in a recent version of Microsoft Word or Corel WordPerfect.

We regret that we are unable to return manuscripts after consideration.

  2. Citations should conform to the most recent edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation.

  3. Whereas we consider articles of any length, we are particularly interested in receiving concise scholarship of the following lengths, as converted into law review format (single-spaced, 6"x9"):

    Articles                                                 50-70 pages
    Student Notes                                       10-30 pages
Essays, commentaries and book reviews  5-15 pages

  4. It is the policy of Trinity Law Review to consider submissions from Trinity professors as we would consider any other submission, recognizing that no more than one-third (1/3) of the law review should be authored by Trinity faculty members. We consider student notes from both Trinity students and other law students. No Law Review member who is a student in the class of any faculty member who has submitted a manuscript for review will serve on the Submission Committee evaluating that article or essay, with the exception of the Lead Editors.

Trinity Law Review carefully considers all manuscripts that it receives, with Articles, Essays, Commentaries, and Book Reviews being submitted to a committee of at least four Law Review members. Student Notes may be accepted by the Student Note Editor, Managing Editor, and the Editor-in-Chief.

Acceptance of manuscripts typically occurs within 3-4 weeks of receipt, although some manuscripts are reviewed more rapidly. If a contributor has not received any communication from Trinity Law Review within six weeks of submission, the contributor may assume that his or her submission has not been accepted for publication. We apologize that we cannot personally respond to every submission that we receive.

Contributors who require expedited review of their manuscripts may contact Trinity Law Review by email, phone or fax.
