H. Wayne Johnson

H. Wayne Johnson, formerly Dean of Students for Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS) and Trinity Graduate School (TGS), currently serves as the director of the MDiv Program and adjunct professor of Pastoral Theology. He has been at Trinity since 2000.

Prior to coming to Trinity, Dr. Johnson served as lecturer and academic dean at Singapore Bible College for seven years as a seconded missionary with the Evangelical Free Church Mission. He has also taught at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia and Malaysia Bible Seminary in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Dr. Johnson has served as a pastor in the Evangelical Free Church and has been a worship director in three different churches.

He earned the PhD in Hermeneutics and New Testament from Westminster Theological Seminary, the ThM and MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and a BA in Music from Dartmouth College.

Dr. Johnson has published in the areas of hermeneutics, biblical theology, New Testament exegesis, church and culture, and pastoral ministry. This includes a more detailed treatment of Christian community and modernization in Singapore. Integrating his academic background in biblical studies with diverse ministry experience, Dr. Johnson presently teaches courses in Pastoral Theology, Christian Formation, and Worship.

Dr. Johnson and his wife, Kristen, have four children and reside in Round Lake Beach, Illinois.
