Pastoral Theology Department

The Pastoral Theology Department exists to serve students by developing a community where together we can work out God's calling on our lives by integrating life and doctrine in pursuit of godliness that commends the gospel; equipping for the ministries of preaching, shepherding, and overseeing; and embracing a proper biblical and theological orientation to the church and world.

We offer courses in homiletics (preaching) and pastoral theology. Pastoral theology courses focus on a variety of ministry areas, such as music, education, counseling, church planting, administration, media, urban, evangelism, discipleship, campus, cross-cultural, worship, ethnic, and personal spiritual formation. The department also provides 17 field education courses.

If you have any questions, contact the department office assistant, Christine Uggerud, at 847.317.8041 or cuggeru@tiu.edu. The office fax number is 847.317.8141.
